Philips for examination or repair.
Repair by unqualied people

2 Introduction
The Philips Pro range has been developed to oer you the
best performance, whilst perfectly taking care of your hair.
We have been working together with leading stylists to learn
what makes a product professional for consumers and to
develop products accordingly. The Philips Pro straightener
oers the best a straightener needs: oating plates with a
durable titanium coating, which oers great heat conduction
for fast straightening with optimal pressure. It also oers a
10 second heat-up time for immediate straightening and
digital temperature control, which can be controlled by
the rheostat wheel.We hope you will enjoy using the Pro
straightener for a long time!
Titanium plates
Titanium coated plates, used professionally, are valued for
their robustness and quick heat transfer, resulting in faster
straightening.

Notes
• Always select a lower setting when you use the
straightener for the rst time.
• Use the straightener only when your hair is dry.
• Frequent users are recommended to use heat protection
products when straightening.
1 Connect the plug to a power supply socket and remove
the storage cap.
2 Slide and hold the lock ( f ) until the LCD screen
lights up.
» The default temperature setting is displayed on the
LCD screen ( a ).
3 Rotate the temperature control clockwise or anti-
clockwise ( e ) to select a suitable temperature setting
for your hair.
Note: It is not recommended to regularly use temperature
above 200°C to avoid damage to your hair.

» When the heating plates are heating up, the
temperature digits will blink.
» When the heating plates have reached the selected
temperature, the temperature digits stop blinking.
» If the appliance is powered on, ions are automatically
and continuously dispensed from the outlet ( d ),
reducing frizz and providing additional shine.
ThermoGuard
ThermoGuard prevents you from unintentional heat
exposure above 200°C. When you increase the temperature
above 200°C, the temperature will increase only 5°C
by each step.
Auto-shut o
The appliance is equipped with an auto-shut o function.
After 60 minutes, the appliance switches o automatically.
You can re-start the appliance by sliding and holding the
lock until the LCD screen lights up.
4 Comb your hair and take a section that is not wider than
5cm for straightening.
Note: For thicker hair, it is suggested to create more sections.
5 Place your hair between the titanium straightening
plates ( c ) and press the handles rmly together.
6 Slide the straightener down the length of the hair in a
single motion (max. 5 seconds) from root to end, without
stopping in order to prevent overheating.
• To create icks, slowly rotate the straightener in a half-
circle motion inwards (or outwards) when it reaches the
hair ends and let the hair glide o the plates.
7 To straighten the rest of your hair, repeat steps 4 to 6.
8 To nish your hair styling, mist with a shine spray or
exible hold hairspray.
Tip: Do not brush your hair while setting your hair style.
After use:
1 Switch o the appliance and unplug it.
2 Place it on a heat-resistant surface until it cools down.
3 Clean the appliance and straightening plates with a damp
cloth.
4 Store it in a safe and dry place, free of dust. You can hang
it with the hanging loop ( ) and lock the plates with the
supplied cap ( ).
